what is the selection ratio (SR)
the selection ratio is a ratio that shows how many people are hired and how many people are assessed. So a low SR is good because this means the company had a lot of choice and therefore can choose the best candidate. the index has a range from 0 to 1 and the best is 0.01
what is the meaning of a false positive?
a false positive means that it is falsely predicted that a positive outcome would occur and it did not.
what is a false negative?
a false negative is when you falsely predict that a negative outcome would occur but it did not.
what is a cut score?
a cut score is a score that separates people who will be hired and which ones will be rejected. by lowering the cut score you can reduce the amount of people who are wrongly rejected but it would also increase the percentage of poor performers among the candidates.
what is a criterion-referenced cut score?
a criterion referenced cut score is a cut score that has been adapted to the desired level of performance.
what are non referenced cut scores?
non reference cut scores are not tied to any expected level but are based on the average of the test takers scores.
what is utility analysis?
utility analysis is a technique that assesses the economic return on investment of human resource interventions such as staffing and training.
what is the base-rate?
the base rate is the percentage of the current workforce that is performing successfully. If the base rate is very high then a new member is not capable of changing a lot.
