What is etiquette ?
The unwritten rules concerning player behaviour
What is sportsmanship ?
Appropriate polite and fair behaviour while participating in a sport event
Example of etiquette ?
In football the player with the ball kicks it out of play if a performer is injured so they can get treatment

Shaking hands after a game
What is gamesmanship ?
The use of dubious methods, that are not strictly illegal , to gain an advantage

Time wasting if you are wining a game

What is contract to compete ?
Agreeing to play by the rules , trying to win but also allowing your opponent to play.

Organisation with responsibility for managing their specific sport

A technique or substance used for the purpose of enhancing performance
What is Ergogenic aid ?
A technique or substance used for the purpose of enhancing performance
What are stimulants ?
Make athletes more alert and mask effects of fatigue
What are the side effects of stimulants ?
High blood pressure

Heart and liver problems
Why does a performer have a higher chance of getting injured if they take stimulants ?
The performer is more tolerant to pain and will continue to train or compete with an injury
What are narcotic analgesics ?
Painkillers that mask pain caused by injury or fatigue , which can make the injury worse

constipation , low blood pressure and possible coma
What are anabolic steroids ?
Drugs that help athletes to train harder and build muscle
