What is cancer?
When a group of cells is dividing uncontrollably
What is a group of cancerous cells called?
A tumour
Where can rumours occur?
In all animals (multicellular)
What are the two types of tumour?
Benign and malignant
What is a benign tumour?
A tumour that doesn’t spread and isn’t usually dangerous, but can turn into a malignant tumour
What is a malignant tumour?
A tumour where cancerous cells can break off and spread to other organs, causing tumours there, dangerous
What is a non-communicable disease?
A disease that can’t be caught from someone else/spread (eg. cancer, scurvy, anaemia etc)
What is a communicable disease?
A disease that can be caught/ spread (e.g. infections)
What is a vector?
A way of transmitting disease (eg. insects, food, droplet infection)
