Chapter 4 | Electromagnetic (EM) Spectrum Flashcards

1
Q

Name the two (types) of waves.

A
  1. Mechanical =
-Needs a medium to travel (air or water)
-Example: sound from an instrument, earthquakes, rock thrown in water
  2. Electromagnetic =
-Can travel in a vacuum or a medium
    -Example: WiFi, Radio Waves, Light
(Vacuum = space with no particles)

Q

Give some facts about Visible Light.

A
  • We see it, as the colours of the rainbow
  • Each colour has its own wavelength
