Chapter 3 | Types Of Fluids Flashcards
1
Q
What are the two types of fluids?
A
Compressible and Incompressible
2
Q
What is an incompressible fluid?
A
It’s volume cannot change with pressure; a liquid.
3
Q
What’s a compressible fluid?
A
It’s Volume can change with pressure; gases
4
Q
Info on compressible fluids:
A
Phase of particle: Gaseous state
Volume: Can change
Why? Because there’s space between particles, and they can be forced together.
5
Q
Info on incompressible fluids:
A
Phase of particle: Liquid state
Volume: Cannot be changed
Why? Very little space between particles, so they (particles) cannot be forced together
