2
Q

what does vasodilation vs vasoconstriction do to the flow

A

Vasodilation increase radius –> increases flow

Vasoconstriction decresease radius –> lowers flow

8
Q

whats the difference between Active hyperemia, Reactive hyperemia, and Myogenic response

A

Active hyperemia
- increased blood flow in response to increase metabolic activity, too much co2 so the blood flow increases to bring more oxygen

Reactive hyperemia
- increased blood flow in response to a previous reduction of blood flow, there was a blockage

Myogenic response
- change in vascular resistance in response to stretch of blood vessels, when it gets stretched it contracts

Q

whats the difference between Filtration and Absorption

A

Filtration
- moving out of capillaries into interstitial fluid

Absorption
- moving in of capillarys from interstitial fluid

16
Q

what do baroreceptors tell us and would it send more or less action potentials

A

meachincal receptor to tell us about pressure
increased pressure = sends more action potentail

17
Q

what do kidneys respond to to change blood volume for long term management

A

vasopressin (ADH) and Angiotensin II
