What is NOTAM?
Notice To Airmen.
Is an urgent notice to pilot concerning any unavailable runways, taxiways and areas.
What is CAAP?
Civil Aviation Advisory Publication.
A document that suggests how to follow rules and regulations in place.
What is VFG?
Visual Flight Guide.
A guide for Visual Flight Pilots on how to safely operate under VFR.
What is AFM?
Aircraft Flight Manual.
CASA approved document which is the final reference to Operating Limitations and Techniques.
The Flight Manual must remain in the aircraft at all times.
What is POH?
Pilot Operating Handbook.
Published by the aircraft manufacturer is a document which is the final reference to Operating Limitations and Techniques.
The Pilot Operating Handbook does not have to remain in the aircraft at all times.
What is MR?
Maintenance Release.
Is an operational document divided into 3 parts:
- General.
- Endorsements (Damages and Defects).
- Daily Inspection Certification.
This document must be on board the aircraft for all flights.
What is a Flight Authorisation Document?
Is an authorisation to carry out certain training exercises and maintains a record of who is flying the aircraft.
What is a Pilot Log Book?
Is a Log Book in which a pilot must record the hours flown in each type of aircraft.
What are Checklists?
A safety item used to confirm certain required procedures to be carried out and must be present in the cockpit.
