How is the III-ה formed in the Qal Imperfect? (except for the 3fp and 2fp)
בָנָה
- Hey drops out and Seghol Hey is added to all forms that lack a sufformative (Seghol Yod for 3fp/2fp)
- All forms have a SS after the preformative (including 3fp/2fp) יִבְנֶה
- 3fp/2fp have a Seghol Yod after the root and before sufformative (תִּבְנֶ֫ינָה)
Gemanite סָבַב (except for the 3fp and 2fp)
- All preformatives start with a Qamets (Except for 3fp and 2fp which have a VS)
- All initial vowles are a Holem (Except for 3fp and 2fp which have a Qibbuts)
- All forms that end in vowel have an accent on first root consonant
- The forms with a sufformative also have a Dagesh
What are the changes for Type 1 I-י Imperfect Weak verbs? (except for the 3fp and 2fp) יָשָׁב
- The intitial Yod has dropped out in every form
- Every form takes a Tsere as preformative
- Any form with a vowel letter sufformative, takes a SS after the preformative all other take a second Tsere
(יֵשֵׁב) (תֵּשְׁבִי)
What are the changes for Type 1 I-נ Imperfect Weak verbs? (except for the 3fp and 2fp)
נָפַל
- The Nun has assimilated in every form
2. Any form with a vowel letter sufformative, takes a SS after the preformative all other take the Holem
What are the changes for 3-א Imperfect Weak verbs?
מָצָא
- Qamets stem vowel for forms without sufformative, those with - take a Shewa (יִמְצָא)
- Every form takes SS after preformative
- Twin 3fp, 2fp: have Seghol under stem vowel, and no Shewa under Aleph (תִִּמְצֶ֫אנָה)
