Cellular Energy - Equation for Cellular Resperation Flashcards
1
Q
cellular respiration
A
- ALL cells do cellular respiration (plant, animal, and all other living things)
- The process that releases energy by breaking down glucose and other food molecules in the presence of oxygen.
- Takes place in the mitochondria.
- If you look at this equation compared to photosynthesis you will notice that it is the opposite. The products of photosynthesis are the reactants of cellular respiration.
2
Q
mitochondria
A
- Outer membrane
- Inner membrane (folded into cristae)
- Matrix
- The space inside the inner membrane.
- Inner membrane space
- The space between the outer membrane and the inner membrane.
