describe the process of cell division by mitosis.

as the cell begins to divide the DNA replicates to form two copies of each chromosome
chromosomes line up then one set of chromosomes are pulled to either side of the cell and the nucleus divides
finally the cytoplasm and cell membrane divide to form two identical cells
