arteries carry blood away from the heart

describe each vesssel
A
artery-has thick muscular walls and the blood is at high pressure due to heart contractions
vein-has thinner walls that the artery but a larger lumin and is at low pressure. It also has valves
capillaries- walls are very thin (one cell thick)and has no muscle or elasticity

why does blood move slowly through the capillaries?
A
because the capillaries are much smaller theres less soace for the blood this means it moves slowly giving more time for diffusion as well as decreasiong its distance
