Cruise Brief

A
  • Engine Fail/Drift down Procedure
    o Fly the airplane. Apply manual rudder and counter with trim. If the AP disengages, re-trim and engage AP
    o Set MCT
    o Set Driftdown Alt, Driftdown Speed, FLCH
    o Memory Items
    o Under Radar control avoid turns off the airway
    o Non- Radar refer to Jepp for applicable procedures
  • Decompression
    o Don O2 mask, 100%, Crew Comm
    o PA Emergency Descent
    o PM – Pax Signs on, Ext lights on, Advise ATC, 7700
    • Set Terrain on MFD
    • Call Out every 10k, 2,000’, 1000’
    o PF- Alt(10K or MEA), Thrust, Speed brake, Airspeed max
    • 2,000’: reduce speed to LRC
    • 1,000’: Speed brakes
    o PA Att CREW we have reached a safe altitude
    o Assess the Aircraft, Crew, Pax
  • Check weather at Diversion Airports and update En-route

  • NAT – 30 deg, offset by 5nm
  • Africa – Take whatever action necessary – As per company procedure
  • USA – Advise ATC – As per company procedure
