MOUNTING OF SPECIMEN ON MICROSCOPIC SLIDE
- The specimen is placed directly on the slide. A cover slip may be used to keep the specimen in place and to help protect the objective lens.
- This is suitable for specimens such as Samples of pollen, Hair, Feathers, or Plant materials
DRY MOUNT
MOUNTING OF SPECIMEN ON MICROSCOPIC SLIDE
- Made by placing a fluid solution on a slide, suspending a specimen in a solution, and then covering the specimen and the solution with a cover slide.
WET MOUNT
The number of times an object is enlarged by a lens system or enlarged in the drawing or illustration.
MAGNIFICATION
Even the lowest power objectives such as x4 provide too much magnification for some specimens which cannot be encompassed within the field of view.
REDUCTION
Computing for Magnification
Magnification = V ocular x V objective
Magnification = Size of Image/ Size of Object
