The wrist/carpus
Consists of 8 carpal bones.

- pisiform
What is the Carpal tunnel?
The tunnel created by the flexor retinaculum & the carpal bones.
It contains the median nerve & flexor tendons as they pass towards the hand.
What is carpal tunnel syndrome?
Inflammation of synovial membranes surrounding the flexor tendons that compress the median nerve
Bones of the hand
- Metacarpals
- proximal phalanges
- middle phalanges
- distal phalanges
What does the pectoral girdle consist of?
- two scapulae
- two clavicles
How is the humerus joined to the scapula?
At the glenohumeral joint (a ball & socket joint)
Is the radius on the thumb side or pinky side?
Thumb
Is the ulna on the thumb side or pinky side?
Pinky side
Which are the elbow joint bones?
- humerus
- radius
- ulna
Mention the 3 elbow joints
1) humero ulnar
2) radio humeral
3) radio ulnar
Mention the 3 ligaments of the elbow
1) Ulnar collateral
2) Radial collateral
3) Annular
The acromioclavicular joint is located at the proximal or distal extremity of the clavicle?
Distal
Is the acromioclavicular AC joint commonly disjointed?
Yes
Where are the medial and lateral epicondyles located?
Distal end of the humerus
Where is the trochlea located?
Medial portion of the articulating surface on the distal end of the humerus
The only bony connection of the girdle to the axial skeleton is at the?
Sternoclavicular joint
