- Packed with a red pigment called haemoglobin.

How does a red bloos cell carry oxygen from the lungs to the other organs?
A
In the lungs, haemoglobin combines with oxygen to create oxyhaemoglobin in the lung.
In the other organs, oxyhaemoglobin splits up into oxygen and haemoglobin.

- Contains one nucleus.
- Form parts of the body’s defence system against micriorganism.
