What is artificial classification?
Artificial classification is based on one or two simple characteristics to make identification easier.
What is natural classification?
Natural classification is based on evolution, so organisms are placed in smaller groups.
Why do similar species live in similar habitats?
Because they share features that allows them to survive there.
What is a species?
A species is a group of organisms that can breed together to produce fertile offspring.
What is the binomial name system used for?
A binomial name system is used because people of different languages can understand the different names of animals.
Does the genus or the species have a capital letter?
The genus.
Why can bacteria not be classified?
This is because they reproduce asexually and do not produce fertile offspring.
Would you expect dolphins to have lungs or gills and why?
Lungs because they are classed as mammals.
