Wheeze

A

generated by vibration of narrowed airways as air rushes through
expiratory wheeze: caused by bronchospasm when it combined with prolonged expiration

wheeze on inspiration and expiration: caused by inflammation, pulmonary oedema, bronchial secretions, tumours or foreign bodies. Polyphonic wheezes
