These radios have a reverse frequency feature which allows the Post or UHF to transmit on the frequency of the HT repeater channel. The strength of the Post or UHF (45 watts) may penetrate into dead spots. But due to the limitations of the XTS 3500 HT (5 watts) units may not be able to respond.
On the Post and UHF radios, “Rev Subway 1” will transmit if channel 14 fails, and “Rev Subway 2” will transmit if channel 15 fails.

Regarding the procedures described in question 9, the I.C. should conduct a roll call of units on scene after the notifications are made and all members have switched back to Channel 1.

The unit making the discovery will notify the Borough Communications Office via department radio. Inform the dispatcher of the exact location and station where the dead spot exists.
