Who is responsible for notifying the Citywide Tour Commander of a noteworthy incident?

Chief Officers, when operating as the I.C. at NOTEWORTHY INCIDENTS, are personally responsible for notifying or designating a knowledgeable subordinate to notify the Citywide Tour Commander of all available particulars of the incident. This notification shall be made through the EOC as soon as an incident is determined to be NOTEWORTHY. ABC 3-96 3

When would a Chief Officer be expected to make such notification?

Answer 2

Chief Officers should use their cellular phones, which are required to be available at the Command Post at all times, to make such notifications from the scene.
In those cases where a Chief Officer has not responded, Company Officers should
request the response of a Chief Officer.

Note: A Public Information Officer is available for special call by Battalion or Deputy Chiefs
should they require the assistance of a PIO. AUC 332 8.3
