After each use and annually at a minimum. Station Captains.

How are life safety ropes cleaned?
A
In a front loading washing machine with 1/8 cup of mild detergent. If it has blood borne pathogens, it can be cleaned in an extractor. Dry hang out of direct sunlight.

When is life safety rope retired?
A
After ten years service life. If subjected to a excessive or uncrontrolled load, take it out of service and have tech rescue team captain inspect it.
