How should members act?
Be truthful, take responsibility, conduct themselves in a manner that projects a good image of WMFR, not participate in criminal conduct.
How much can a gift to a member be from the public?
$25 or less. If given in appreciation for services rendered. Cannot influence any discretionary action.
What gifts shall be noted in the District records by utilization of a receipt ledger?
Gifts made out to the district and not to any particular station or crew or individual.
Can we solicit funds or donations from District members or distribute fund raising materials?
Yes but need approval from the fire chief.
Can we use the name of the district to solicit money, sell subscriptions or tickets, etc?
No but an exception can be made with approval from the board of directors.
Can we conduct or solicit private business?
No, not in or on any district property.
Are we allowed to be a District vendor or contractor who does business with the district?
No.
What happens if a member does not fulfill the duties of their job description?
Subject to corrective action or termination.
What do you do when you receive a conflicting order?
Advise the supervisor of the pre-existing order, the supervisor of the conflicting order then assumes responsibility.
When does the discretion of the member supersede original orders?
In cases of imminent danger
What do you do if you refuse to comply with an unlawful or unethical order from a supervisor?
Provide written documentation to your supervisor and their supervisor
Can the department terminate you for just cause?
Sure can.
