Must haves for driving District vehicles?
A Colorado drivers license. Must be trained in operations, safety and laws. Required to follow all applicable laws.
Can food be consumed while the vehicle is in motion?
No. As well as tobacco products.
Can family members or civilians ride in district vehicles?
Only with the approval of the fire chief. Also applies to contract employees and interns.
Who can park their assigned vehicle at the closest WMFR station to their home?
Members assigned a vehicle but not required to respond to first or second alarm incidents.
Who can drive their assigned vehicles home?
Members assigned a vehicle who are required to respond to first or second due alarms. Must live within 15 miles of district boundary or at discretion of the fire chief.
Who is responsible for the vehicles assigned to their division?
Division directors.
Who is responsible for staff vehicle maitnence?
The member assigned to that vehicle
What if the member assigned to a vehicle goes on vacation or an extended leave?
They need to make their vehicle available for the District to use.
What happens if a member gets their driving privileges revoked by the state for year?
They will be placed on a mod duty assignment if available and cannot operate any District vehicles. They will be reduced one pay rank while on mod duty.
