A
infections caused by susceptible bacteria in the urinary tract (ie. cystitis), upper and lower respiratory tract, and many other tissues

- patients with hypersensitivity to sulfonamides or to trimethopri
- infants < 2 months old
- patients with megaloblastic anemia and other selected blood disorders
