What is the relevance of the perineal body?
A
Most important structure in pelvic floor strength as lots of perineal muscles attach there - mass/ball of tissue
Can be damaged in labour as sits in-between the urogenital and anal triangle of the perineum

What is their purpose?

Found at either side of the entrance to the vagina
Provide lubricant during sex
