What is the sagittal plane?
A plane that divides the body into left and right portions
What is the median sagittal plane?
The midline of the body that creates equal left and right portions.
What is the coronal plane?
This divides the body into front and back portions.
What is the transverse plane?
A plane that divides the body into upper and lower portions.
Which structures are part of the axial skeleton?
Skull, sternum, ribs and spine.
Which structures are part of the appendicular skeleton?
Pelvis, clavicle, scapula, coccyx and limbs.
What are the dorsal body cavities?
Cranial and spinal cavities
What are the ventral body cavities?
Thoracic, abdominal and pelvic cavities.
What is different about the anatomical description of the leg?
Dorsal means front and ventral means back.
What does prone mean?
Laying face down
What does supine mean?
Laying face up
