Q

Damage to the frontal cortex would result in the loss of what?

A

Restraint, initiative and order

17
Q

Where is Broca’s area?

A

Frontal lobe

18
Q

What is Broca’s area responsible for?

A

Making speech

19
Q

Where is Wernicke’s area?

A

Temporal lobe

20
Q

What is Wernicke’s area responsible for?

A

Understanding speech

21
Q

If someone has Broca’s aphasia what can they not do?

A

Cannot construct language but can understand it. Language is repetitive, syntax is disordered.

22
Q

If someone has Wernicke’s aphasia what can they not do?

A

Unable to understand language. Fluent speech that doesn’t make sense! Syntax is fine
