What does SE stand for?
Support Equipment (if motor running SE manned at all times)
Where are the danger areas?
Intakes, exhaust, flight controls, compressed gasses, cryogenics, explosives, hazmats
How do you ground the static from aircraft
First hook up grounding strap to ground and then to the aircraft grounding receptacle. Doing in wrong order could result in an electrical shock.
Why do you need to ground the windshield?
During flight a high voltage (100,000 volts) charge builds up and stored on windshield
When must an aircraft be tied down?
When not in use, and during maintenance evolutions.
What is Initial tie-down?
Up to 45 Knots, minimum of 6 chains, immediately prior to, in between, or after flight
What is Normal weather tie down?
Up to 45 knots, 9 chains used
What is Moderate weather tiedown?
46-60 knots 14 chains Required
What is Heavy weather tiedown
Over 60 knots, 20 chains required.
What is the only mandatory signal for all aircrafts?
Emergency stop, and Wave off and hold
What is the max towing speed?
No more then 5 MPH or the speed of the slowest walker
How many people required to move an aircraft?
Team of 6 to 10.
What are the jobs in the Move Crew?
Move Director-overall responsible
Brake Rider-Premove inspection to make sure mechanically sound and ready for movement
Chock Walker-removes and carry and install wheel chocks
Safety Observer-responsible for ensuring ready to be towed and amle clearance. Positioned at wing tips and tail of aircraft.
Tractor Driver-safe and slow movement form hook up to final parking spot. Responsible directly to move director.
