Gallstones
Ethanol
Trauma
Steroids
Mumps
Autoimmune
Scorpion Venom
Hypertriglyceridaemia, Hyperchylomicronaemia, Hypercalcaemia, Hypothermia
ERCP
Drugs (azathioprine, mesalazine*, didanosine, bendroflumethiazide, furosemide, pentamidine, steroids, sodium valproate)

Presentation?

A

severe, constant, epigastric pain. Radiates to back. Nausea and vomiting. Fever, distress, shock, abdominal tenderness and guarding.

Grey-turners sign develops after several days (flank bruising)

A

Bloods: FBC, U&E’s, LFT’s, calcium, glucose, amylase (high), lipase (expensive), coagulation,
CXR
ABG
