What is atypical UTI?
What are the organisms needed for atypical UTI?
Anything rather than EColi
Recurrent UTI attack definition
1 uti + pyelonephritis or
2 uti without pyelonephritis
Imaging in UTI if <6 months age
US for all cases +
If atypical or recurrent: do DMSA or micturating cystourethrography
Imaging in UTI if 6m - 3 yrs
for atypical and recurrent only :

Imaging of UTI if > 3 yrs
Age appropriate for febrile convulsion
6m - 6yrs
First line of anticonvulsant in neonates
Phenobarbitone
First line of anticonvulsant in age older than neonates
Diazepam and phenytoin
Management of status epilepticus
ABC, position,O2
– Blood glucose ( Dextrostix)
– Rectal DIAZEPAM if no intravenous access
– Intravenous LORAZEPAM if IV access
– Intravenous Phenytoin
– Anaesthetist to sedate and ventilate if no response
First line during status epilepticus
Diazepam, lorazepam
