remove organism in the GI tract- metronidazole or penicillin.
use antitoxin.

what might clindamyacin cause?
pseudomembranous collitis because it wipes ou the normal flora.
how would you treat pseudomembranous colitis?
stop the antibiotics and stay hydrated. switch to a C. Diff safe abs if need such as metrondiazle or vancomycin
how can you treat nocardia?
treat with wound care and sulfonamide
how would you treat actinomyces?
remove infected tissue and give penicillin
how can you treat mycobacterium?
rifamycins- inhibit the transcription but causes liver damage
- isoniazid- cell wall synthesis inhibitor- mycelia acid- liver toxicity.
- pyrazinamide- unclear mode
is there a vaccine for mycobacterium (tuberculosis)?
yes, prevent with the BCG vaccine
