Suffragettes:
Fed arming attention to the issue
Educational, political and military tactics to show that women were denied the same rights as men
The role of conflict
Although some dismissed the suffragettes as trouble makers many moved towards the suffragette position
Consistency
They were consistent cm because their fight for vote continues for 15 years and they even protested in jail
The augmentation principle
Risked being imprisoned and die from hunger strikes lead to them being be taken more seriously
Talk about minority influence doesn’t always bring change
Minorities are seen as did derwent or deviant on views of majority which makes it harder ir slower for social change to occur
This is because the members of majority group don’t want to be seen as deviant
So the influence of minority groups is latent rather than directly causing social change
