Going along with others to gain a their approval or to avoid disapproval
Doesn’t involved analysing the perspectives
Compliance with little or no private attitude change
What is internalisation
Going along with others because you have accepted their point of view because it is consistent to your own
Examining own beliefs which may convince individual they’re wrong
Point of view changes publicly and privately

Future behaviour
Talk about motivating factors
If indvs prime concerns is to fit in with the group they will more likely comply
If their main concern is to find the best way to respond in a particular sustain they will internalise
Talk about future behaviour
They also different in terms of the way they determine future responses
If person went for compliance they will only perform the response when observed by the group
If they adopted their response through internalisation then they’ll perform this whenever the issue rises regardless of who’s observing them
