9/4a intro to ROM Assessment Flashcards

1
Q

How do you test range of motion?

A
  1. have the patient try active range of motion, see how willing they are are to move
  2. Estimate range of motion
  3. Test End Feel - passive range of motion
    - Firm
    - Soft
    - Hard
    - Empty
  4. Use goniometer to get range of motion in passive
  5. stabilize proximal segment always
  6. look for compensations
