The USA gave secret assistance to Solidarity , criticising Brezhnev and Poland for its heavy handed approach to the trade union and consequently BANNED ALL THEIR HINTECH TRADE.
(Su walked out of start as as result), tensions higher
Consequences of Solidarity ban:
Soviet delegations walked out of the start and Reagan announced the SDI in 1983
