A

This happened as Stalin forced into it as germany invaded the SU in 1941, so aims were aligned

A

Stalin annoyed that briwrian wnd USA delayed opening a second front (did later in 44 with d day landings). He was convinced that the West were waiting until the Su was really damaged by Germany…

A

Where the bodies of 4000 polish officers were found in the Katyn forest, making Churchill and west even more suspicious of Stalin motives(causing Stalin to break diplomatic relation with the London poles after they called for a Red Cross inquiry.) (1943 April)

A

Three leaders couldn’t agree on how much money germany was to pay in reparations , as Stalin’s wanted them to be crushed, whereas roosveeelt Churchill didn’t.

Disagreed about Poland: stall. Wanted the border to be. Ich further tot the west than the western allies . He also wanted a “friendly” polish givenment so that his country would have protection from Germany.

Powers feared this may be a soviet controlled elections, so convinced Stalin to let them stay free…

A

The SU’s future government of Poland set up in July 1944 where the people were loyal to stalin. Significant because it made the western allies unhappy as it proved Stalin couldn’t be trusted and it was able to cause future issues

300,000 polish fighters were killed or sent to German concentration camps. It was so easy for the German forces as the red army didn’t need to do anything! It’s significant as it made the western allies unhappy due to the realisation of Poland being taken
