Static stretching
Passively takings muscle to the point of tension and holding the stretch for a minimum of 30 seconds
May decrease muscular strength and power
Myofascial release
Hold for 30 sec

Improves tissues ability to lengthen through stretching process
Active isolated stretching
Using agonists and synergists to dynamically move the joint into a range of motion
Held for 1-2 seconds
Suggested for prescribing warm up
Dynamic stretching
Active extension of a muscle using force production and momentum to move the joint through the full available range of motion
Only if already have good extensibility, core stability, balance
