What are the signs?
A
Vitamin B1 deficiency
Can either be wet (heart failure with oedema) or dry (neuropathy)

What is pellagra?
How does it present?
A
Lack of nicotinic acid
Diarrhoea, dementia, dermatitis.

Who gets pellagra?
A
Chinese and Africans
Those with carcinoid syndromes and anti-TB drugs

What is xerophthalmia. Who gets it?
What are the symptoms
A
Vitamin A deficiency usually found in the tropics.
Conjunctival become dry and develop oval/triangular spots. Corneas become cloudy and soft.
