Q

What is adult cell cloning?

A

When the nucleus of a cell from an adult replaces the nucleus of an egg cell. The animal which grows from this will be genetically identical to the adult donor. Usually a skin cell is used

Q

What are the steps in adult cloning?

A

Nucleus removed from an unfertilized egg cell

Nucleus removed from an adult skin cell and put inside the unfertilized egg cell.

The new cell given an electric shock which makes it start to grow.

When it has grown into several cells, it is an embryo and is implanted into the host mother.
