Why does RGP adaptation take time
A
Smaller than cornea and don’t drape over eye like SCL. Rest directly on cornea so feel them more initially
Upper eyelid rubs frequently over edge of lens when blinking
Don’t absorb water like SCL so no cushion between lens and eye
Time for sensory adaptation
