5.1 Peritoneal cavity Flashcards
What are the foregut unpaired abdominal viscera?
Abdominal part of esophagus, stomach, proximal part of duodenum, bilary tract, liver, pancreas, spleen
What are the midgut unpaired abdominal viscera?
Distal duodenum, jejunum, ilium, large intestine until last 1/3 of transverse colon
What are the hindgut unpaired abdominal viscera?
Descending colon, sigmoid colon, rectum
What is the foregut abdominal viscera supplied by?
Celiac trunk
What is the midgut abdominal viscera supplied by?
Superior mesenteric artery
What is the hindgut abdominal viscera supplied by?
Inferior mesenteric artery
What are the laterally paired abdominal viscera?
Kidneys, suprarenal glands, ureters, testes, deferent ducts
What are secondary retroperitoneal viscera?
Viscera that have a fused mesentary to the posterior abdominal wall
What are examples of secondary retroperitoneal viscera?
Duodenum, Pancreas, ASending and descending colon
What is the Mesogastrium?
Mesentary for the foregut structures plus the gallbladder
What is The Mesentary?
Mesentary fro the small intestine and appendix
How many mesentaries does the appendix have?
2
What is the Transverse mesocolon?
For the transverse colon, starts at the posterior abdominal wall and moves under the transverse colon
What is the Sigmoid mesocolon?
For the sigmoid colon, in pelvic area
What is the Lesser Omentum?
Attaches to the inferior side of the liver
What is the Greater omentum?
On anterior side of the transverse color, loops back up to form a recess, plays a role in inflammation and insulation
What are Peritoneal ligaments?
They connect fixed viscera to abdominal wall or to other viscera
What is the Hepato-gastric ligament?
Part of the Lesser omentum that connects to the liver
What is the Hepato-duodenal ligament?
Part of the Lesser omentum that closes the portal triad
What is the Gastro-lienal ligament?
It connects stomach to the spleen
What is the Gastro-colic ligament?
Part of the greater omentum
What is the Greater sac?
It is a cavity that is inside the peritoneum but outside the lesser sac. The greater sac takes up most of the abdomin
What is the Lesser sac?
It is a cavity surrounded by the greater sac. Between the liver and stomach and the stomach and the transverse colon
What is the Spleenorenal ligament?
Connects the spleen and the L Kidney
What is the omental foramen?
Connects the greater sac to the lesser sac
