Q

describe what a normal year looks like in terms of the pacific ocean and tradewinds explain

A

tradewinds are weakened so less water is pushed so the sides switch who gets cold and who gets warm bc warm water stays with umerica instead of moving

16
Q

what kind of winds cause a rain shadow

A

prevailing ocean winds

17
Q

expliain the effect that the ocean affects coastal places

A

Water heats and cools more slowly than landmasses. Therefore, the coastal regions will stay cooler in summer and warmer in winter.

18
Q

explain how winds affect rain shadows

A

air pushes wind towards the mountain –> it moves up and cools so water condenses

cool dry air then falls at elevations and absorbs moisture so no rain in bottom side of mountain with no rain
