What is the Boher’s angle?

A

The Bohler’s angle is a normal anatomic landmark that should be looked for in plain x-ray films. If the angle is less than 20 degrees it indicates a compression of the calcaneus, as seen in jumping injuries.

Extraarticular fractures (do not involve the posterior facet) Intraarticular fractures (75%)

What is the treatment for calcaneal fractures?

A
  • Nonoperative for nondisplaced or minimally displaced fractures.
  • Operative:
    ORIF
  • Surgical management of anterior process fractures is with small or minifragment screws. Tuberosity (avulsion) fractures need lag screw fixation +/- cerclage wire.
