biodiverse ecosystems provide support for other ecosystems services that we need e.g. soil formation to grow food to eat
cultural services
a biodiverse and healthy ecosystem important for human health and well being recreation and education economy can depend on tourism from ecosystem
human activities
cause enviromental disasters such as hurricanes and floods a lot of money is required

crops
non-renewable resources
if run out industry will collapse
reduces chance
of finding new drug a new food or new genes
