Why are hollow verbs weak?
- Because the root is not made up of three consonants but only of two consonants, with a long vowel in between
- In some conjugations, the vowel letter will disappear

- The characteristic long vowel is present in the inf const, which is the dictionary form of hollow verbs,

- Most hollow verbs are action verbs, and the vowel of the pf is an “a”-class vowel.
- Several hollow verbs are stative verbs, and in these cases the vowel of the pf is an “i”- or “u”-class vowel.
