What are the two groups I Yod verbs are placed in?
- I Yod (Yod)
- have always had yod as the first root letter

- In the Qal perfect it is regular

- In the Qal Impf, the י of the first root is lost, and the prefix vowel is lengthened to a tsere.
- In the Niphal, Hiphil, and Hophal patterns, the original ו reappears.
