✅ Advantages
Cost-effective – Saves on advertising and recruitment agency fees. Faster process – No need for lengthy onboarding. Motivates employees – Encourages career progression. Candidate is already familiar with the company – Reduces training time.
❌ Disadvantages
Limits fresh ideas – No new perspectives from outside. Creates another vacancy – The promoted employee’s role now needs filling. Possible resentment – Other employees may feel overlooked. Limited talent pool – Only existing employees can apply
external recruitement
External recruitment is when a business hires someone from outside the company.
✅ Advantages
Brings new skills and perspectives – Fresh ideas can improve innovation. Larger talent pool – Access to a wider range of candidates. Reduces internal conflicts – No competition among existing staff. Can improve company reputation – Attracts skilled professionals.
❌ Disadvantages
More expensive – Costs include advertising, recruitment agencies, and interviews. Longer hiring process – Screening, interviewing, and onboarding take time. Higher risk – The new hire might not fit the company culture. Existing employees may feel demotivated – They might see fewer growth opportunities.
