Surveys can gather a large amount of data from a large group, take little time to analyze (if done electronically), and are simple.

Surveys can be hard to ask the ‘right question’, information gathered is limited by the questionnaire, can be biased, and the quality of responses is not ensured.

Interviews allow a lot of very detailed information to be gathered and people can be asked about what they don’t like about the system.
