What is data redundancy?
Data redundancy is a condition where the same piece of data is held in two separate places, either within a single database or across multiple software environments or platforms.
What is a failover system?
A failover system is the capability to automatically and seamlessly switch to a highly reliable backup system, either redundantly or in standby mode, upon failure of a primary system.
What is removable media?
Removable media refers to storage devices that can be removed from a computer while the system is running, such as CDs, DVDs, and USBs.
What are the categories of removable media?
Removable media falls under two categories: Tertiary Storage (mechanically/automatically mounted and dismounted) and Offline Storage (manually mounted and dismounted).
What is offsite/offline storage?
Offsite/offline storage involves storing backup data or applications external to the organisation’s core IT environment.
What is cloud backup?
Cloud backup is a service using cloud computing resources and infrastructure to create, edit, manage, and restore data, services, or applications remotely over the internet. It may also be called online backup or remote backup.
