What is a stakeholder?
A stakeholder is a person, group, or organisation that has interest or concern in an organisation. Examples include creditors, directors, employees, government agencies, suppliers, unions, and the community.
Who are internal stakeholders?
Internal stakeholders include employees, managers, and owners.
Who are external stakeholders?
External stakeholders include suppliers, society, government, creditors, shareholders, and customers.
What considerations should be made when identifying stakeholders for a new system?
Consider who will be internally and externally affected by the new system, who the end users will be, and their needs.
What philosophical approach is often used when designing a new system?
The approach of designing for the greatest good for the greatest number of people, known as utilitarianism.
