To work out if a study is significant
2
Q

5
Q
When should the sign test be used?
A
- Nominal data
- Experimental design
- Test of difference
6
Q
How do you calculate the value of “s”?
A
- Take column A from column B ( or B from A, it doesn’t matter)
- State the sign of the answer, either + or -
- Any “0”, eliminate that from data sample -> this changes your “n” number
- Add up how many “+” signs you have
- Add up how many “-“ signs you have
- S = the number of the least frequent sign
7
Q
How do you work out if your study is significant?
A
Get the calculated value of “s” -> you must work this out
